Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub

Recently I've been reaching for my lip scrub from Lush more than ever! I've had this product for a few months now and have absolutely been loving it during these cold months. My lips have been getting pretty dry and flaky (gross, I know.) and this has been great to use before bed with a moisturizing lip balm on top or before applying a bold lip color!

This product smells AMAZING! If you like mint chocolate, you will love this. Lush also makes a few other scents. Last year I had the limited edition Christmas "Bon Bon" scent and I loved it so much, I repurchased and bought this one.

Another awesome thing about this product is that it's all natural, and edible! Yes, you read that right. Edible. Once you're done rubbing the sugar scrub on your lips, you can just lick it right off! (It tastes as good as it smells) I wouldn't recommend eating it straight from the pot though!

I love that Lush puts a sticker on all of their packaged products with the name and picture of the person who made your product! Thanks Jamie!

I'm a huge "Lushie" and I'm always looking for recommendations of what product from them I should try next. What is your favorite Lush product?

Leather Nails

Matte nail polish always seems to make its way into Fall and Winter trends. I've recently been putting this Essie "Matte About You" topcoat on every manicure I do! It gives every polish a completely different look.

China Glaze "Liquid Leather" with Essie topcoat

Putting this top coat on a creme black makes it look like leather on your nails. Not only can you incorporate the leather trend into your wardrobe, but you can wear it on your nails!

The only downside to matte nails is that they tend to chip more easily than a manicure with a glossy topcoat. Personally, I don't mind, it just gives me an excuse to paint my nails more often. :)

What do you think? Do you enjoy the matte trend or do you stick to the classic glossy manicure?

My Favorite Fall/Winter Lip Colors

As the colder months are approaching, I've been reaching more for my "darker" lip colors. I say "darker" because although these are some of the darkest shades I own, these may be everyday colors for others. I tend to usually go for a natural lip on a daily basis, but recently I have been branching out into some darker shades to follow some of the Fall/Winter trends.
I also love these four products because they are all very moisturizing, which is important considering my lips tend to get very dry around this time of year.

My favorites are: Revlon Lip Butters in Candy Apple and Berry Smoothie, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey and Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint in Envy.

(I apologize for picking three Revlon shades, I just think they offer the best lip products out of any drugstore brand!)

Candy Apple is the newest addition  to my collection, and I LOVE it! It's quite bright, but can definitely be sheered out. It's a bright red with the slightest bit of orange to it. Berry Smoothie is very wearable, it's a glossy mid
tone berry color. (The name for this color is pretty accurate!)

Revlon Honey is the most natural of the four shades. The formula of both of these are very similar. They are both very moisturizing and smell of peppermint. Honey is a glossy mauve, pink. Envy is a matte, almost brick red.

I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone with darker lip colors. What are some of your favorites?

Stila - Kitten Eyeshadow

I've been eyeing this shade by Stila for a very long time now. This is one of their best sellers but I could never justify the price. ($18)

Luckily, I got an amazing black friday deal on this and the lip glaze in the same shade. (Both together, for only $10!) I have been wearing this for the past few days and absolutely love it, I understand why it is such a popular item.

Stila describes the shade as a "shimmering nude pink". It is very shimmery, but I did not find it to have much fallout, which was great. It is very pigmented and a little goes a very long way. I also want to mention that you get a good amount of product. It is 2.6 grams, where as a MAC eyeshadow is 1.5 grams. (Just for comparison)

This is my first purchase from Stila and I will certainly be buying more from them in the future!
Do you have any Stila "must-haves"?

China Glaze - No Plain Jane

Today I picked this nail polish up at Sally's Beauty Supply. (It was a total impulse buy)
I'm not going lie, part of the reason I bought it was because my name is on it! Besides that, it is a beautiful duo chrome metallic color that changes from a mid tone purple to a dark green/brown color.

This polish reminds me of an oil slick. It was opaque in two coats, which surprised me because I thought it was going be quite sheer.
It was part of China Glaze's summer 2012 "New Bohemians" collection, which was limited edition. I found mine in the clearance section! If you come across it, I highly recommend you pick it up!

This is my first duo chrome nail polish. What is your favorite duo chrome polish?

First blog post ever.

Alright, let me get this first post out of the way.

First, some background information. I'm currently a freshman in college studying music education.
This blog is going to have nothing to do with music. It's going to be my "getaway" from that passion of mine and be about my favorite hobby, makeup. I love reading other beauty blogs and thought it would be fun to start my own, so here I am!
